It’s hard to imagine 10 acres of beautiful, undeveloped land just a few miles from SouthPark, but that’s where Oglukian Oriental Rugs has been a Charlotte staple since 1932.
 

The business started with Levon M. Oglukian at L.M. Oglukian Rugs in the Ivey’s Department Store uptown. It moved a couple of times and, after Mr. Oglukian’s passing, settled in his former home. Today, it’s still family-owned and committed to the same values it was built on. They sell both new and antique rugs, and also offer restoration, appraisals, and cleaning services.
 

“We've built a strong reputation over the years, and integrity is more important to us than profit,” says Vice President Christopher Newton.

Manager Lell Trogdon explains that they want customers to feel good about their rug decisions and enjoy the buying process. They take time to educate buyers, offering books and videos for those interested in learning more.
 

Oglukian also lets customers take home as many rugs as they need to find the perfect fit. And while styles have changed, the quality remains unmatched. “The right rug can last for generations,” says Trogdon, “and it will add warmth and color to your home for years to come.”
